Hell, the Everlasting Home of the Lost

by Pastor Oliver Sandahl, Berean Baptist Church, Brooklyn Park

Jesus Spoke More About Hell than Heaven

In Jesus' public ministry He spoke more about Hell than Heaven. Why? Because stubborn sinners are going there. Jesus paid the terrible price for sin when He suffered on Calvary and shed his own blood to pay the price of everlasting Hell for each one. Jesus, continuing his teachings in Mark 8:34-37, said:

"....Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"

When life is over and the funeral is taking place, have you ever seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul behind? No, only what is done for Christ in this life will last. The choice is yours. The great missionary, the Apostle Paul and compassionate preacher states:

I Corinthians 16:21-22 "The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand. If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha."

What the Bible says is let him be accursed at Christ's coming. In simple words, Paul is saying, if any man, woman, boy, or girl does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him/her be cast straight into Hell. Was Paul being compassionate? Yes! He would risk his life to win lost sinners, so compassion comes through. All who believe in Jesus Christ and love him are on their way to heaven, which is forever.
