Happy Trails in Apple Valley

In January 2005, we pulled our fifth wheel to Apple Valley, CA, in the high desert east of Los Angeles. Along with - the neighboring cities of Hesperia and Victorville, Apple Valley is a bedroom community L.A. Follow the Happy Trails highway, and you will spot the graves of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Whistle loudly, and you might see Trigger gallop through the sagebrush.

With the help of calling teams in thee different states back east, we made about 25,000 phone calls in February. The response was wonderful. 1700 folks asked for mail about the new Life Point Baptist Church. Several weeks before the Grand Opening service, we had enough interest to begin Sunday morning Bible studies. It was thrilling to hear the gospel preached in Pastor Brock's living room and meet fellow believers before the first official service.

April 10 came, and 135 folks attended the first service of Life Point Baptist. At least 100 came as a result of the "Phone's for You" calls. It was our best response yet to the telephone calling outreach.

The great need is to re-seed America with fundamental Baptist churches-- churches that refuse to be like the world to win the world--churches that challenge people to consider the foreign mission field but are also committed to starting churches in the USA.

Healthy organisms reproduce. May our fundamental Baptist churches be healthy.

Final note:

Any non-profit organization, such as a church, is exempt from Do Not Call list. We usually do not call the Do Not Calls because it slows us down if they get upset with us (even though we can legally call them).

The call list software (Cross Directory) allows you to eliminate the Do Not Calls when you print out the call lists. However, last year in CA we left the Do Not Calls on our list and called them. We had just a few folks remind us that we they were on the list and today that church has two families in it that were on Do Not Call and we called them!
